Community Support Services
Intensive one-to-one support that builds independence at home, at work, and across community settings.
What It Is
Community Support Services (CSS) is direct, individualized support delivered in the places where our clients live and learn — homes, workplaces, community settings, and beyond.
This isn’t supervision. It’s skill-building. Our staff work shoulder-to-shoulder with clients on the goals that matter most to them: managing money, navigating transportation, building relationships, communicating effectively, advocating for themselves, and maintaining the routines that support a stable, independent life.
CSS is typically funded through DBHDS waiver services and is often used in combination with our employment services.
What We Work On
- Independent living skills — meal planning, household management, personal care routines.
- Community integration — using public transportation, navigating services, building social networks.
- Workplace skills that extend beyond the job site — managing schedules, handling stress, problem-solving.
- Self-advocacy and decision-making.
- Coordination with other supports in the person’s life.
