Supported Employment
One-to-one job coaching that helps adults with disabilities find, learn, and keep competitive, integrated employment in their community.
What It Is
Supported Employment (SE) is an evidence-based vocational rehabilitation service that provides individualized job development, placement, and ongoing support for adults with disabilities in competitive, integrated employment.
At Wright Choices, every client is matched with a dedicated Employment Specialist who works one-on-one to identify the right job, support the hiring process, and provide training and coaching on the job site — for as long as it takes.
Who It’s For
Supported Employment is available to adults with physical, cognitive, psychiatric, or developmental disabilities who want to work in the community. Services are funded through Virginia DARS, DBHDS, and other referral sources.
Our Approach
- Discovery. We start by learning about you — your interests, strengths, work history, and goals.
- Job Development. Your Employment Specialist builds relationships with local employers and identifies opportunities that match your profile.
- Job Placement. We support you through applications, interviews, and the offer process.
- Job Site Training. Once hired, your coach is there to help you learn the job and build relationships with coworkers.
- Long-Term Support. We stay involved as long as you need us. Many of our clients have been employed for years with periodic check-ins from their coach.
How to Get Started
Supported Employment services are accessed through a referral from Virginia DARS, DBHDS, or another approved funder. If you’re not sure where to start, contact us — we can help you figure out your options.
