Situational Assessments
Community-based, hands-on assessments that reveal a person’s real interests, abilities, and support needs — in real work environments.
What It Is and Why It Matters
Paper-and-pencil testing rarely captures who a person really is in a work setting. Situational assessments do — by placing the individual in actual community job sites and observing performance, interests, strengths, and accommodation needs as they happen.
This service is the foundation for nearly every successful employment plan we develop. It typically takes place across multiple work environments over several weeks, with detailed observation and reporting by our trained assessors.
The result: a clear, evidence-based profile that informs the next step — whether that’s Supported Employment, Customized Employment, or another path.
What You Walk Away With
- A detailed Vocational Assessment Report with specific job recommendations.
- Identified accommodations and support needs.
- A clear answer to the question “what kind of work would fit this person?”
- Documentation that supports DARS or DBHDS planning.
