Supported Employment

Wright Choices, Inc. offers a placement and training service for persons with disabilities called supported employment.

The WCI Supported Employment Program aims to provide quality, long-term placements while maximizing earning potential and social integration for persons with disabilities.

All placements in individual model supported employment services must have:

  1. Integrated work setting
  2. Competitive work in the community
  3. Employer pays the supported employee directly
  4. Permanent placement with long-term support by a WCI job coach

WCI provides supported employment services to the entire Hampton Roads area.

Nationally Accredited

WCI is a nationally accredited community employment program through CARF.

CARF is a not-for-profit organization that promotes quality rehabilitation services.
It does this by establishing standards of quality for organizations to use as guidelines in developing and offering their programs or services to consumers.

CARF standards are developed by input from individuals in programs, rehabilitation professionals, state and national organizations, and funders.

CARF provides standards and guidelines that should be adhered to in order to operate a supported employment program. WCI currently holds the highest level of accreditation.

CARF has noted that WCI has demonstrated that we have substantially met internationally recognized standards.

Personalized Services by Qualified Staff

Our Employment Support Professionals have degrees in the Human Services field and/or experienced working with persons with disabilities. Individuals in the WCI supported employment program are evaluated based on individualized skills and abilities.

WCI identifies needs and quality outcomes.

All individuals are encouraged to take an active, empowering role during the vocational process.
